Common Questions Before Booking

  • Yes. While my office is based in Victoria, British Columbia, the majority of my clients are consultants and service providers across Canada and the US.

I have refined my process to work perfectly online, so we can collaborate seamlessly whether you are in Toronto, New York, or Vancouver.

  • Not at all — please don't let missing content hold you back from reaching out. Honestly, it's better if we talk before you write anything. That way the strategy is right from the start, and you're not doing work we might end up changing anyway.

Every package includes support to get your messaging sorted as part of the process — whether that's my Strategy Workbook guiding you through it, or me doing the writing for you entirely through an Extraction Interview. Either way, you won't be staring at a blank page alone.

  • Typically 1–3 weeks, but it varies depending on the time of year. Because I work in focused sprints and only take on 1–2 clients at a time, spots fill up faster than you'd expect.

If you have a hard deadline — a conference, a book launch, a rebrand you've been putting off long enough — reach out sooner rather than later so we can lock in your timeline before the window closes.

  • The short answer is no. I provide a 1:1 video training session upon launch.

    • No Code Required: You can update text, swap images, and post blogs using a simple drag-and-drop interface.

    • Safety Net: Because we use Squarespace, you cannot accidentally break the site updates or crash the server.

    • Easy to Use: Squarespace is intuitive and easy to use and has amazing customer support.

  • No. Your investment is a transparent, flat project fee, and you own the asset 100% upon launch.

    • No Retainer: You do not pay me a monthly fee to keep the website running.

    • Standard Running Costs: The only ongoing costs are paid directly to the providers: your Squarespace subscription (approx. $35/month) and your domain renewal (approx. $25/year).

    • Scope Integrity: The project fee covers everything outlined in our initial proposal. Additional costs would only apply if you choose to add new features or expand the scope beyond the original agreement.

  • I know that handing your website over to someone is a big deal — it's your business, your reputation, your money — so I take the trust part seriously.

You'll always know where we are in the project, what's coming next, and exactly what's included in your investment. No surprise invoices, no scope creep, no radio silence. Just a clear process with a real human on the other end who genuinely wants to get this right for you.

My clients tend to describe the experience as very smooth and easy. That's the goal — not just a website you love, but a process that didn't make you want to pull your hair out getting there.

  • A template is just a visual shell; I build a discoverable business asset.

While a template gives you a generic layout, it’s more of a one-size-fits-all approach and does not give you an SEO strategy. A template doesn't know who your clients are or what they are typing into Google to find you.

Here is exactly where my value lies:

    • SEO: A template comes with empty, generic metadata. I research high-intent keywords for your specific niche and weave them into your H1 headers, URL slugs, and image alt tags so you actually rank.

    • I Structure Content for Google (Hierarchy): Google rewards websites that are easy to read. I organize your content hierarchy—using the correct heading tags and internal linking structures—so search engines understand exactly what you sell and who it’s for.

    • I Solve the Blank Page Problem: A template cannot write your sales copy or define your Unique Value Proposition. I extract your expertise and write the messaging for you, ensuring the site doesn't just look good, but converts traffic into leads.

    • I Handle the Technical Foundation: I don't just pick colours. I ensure your site is indexed correctly, your SSL security is active, and your mobile optimization is flawless—technical factors that Google penalizes you for if you get them wrong.

In short: A template makes the site look pretty. I make sure the site gets found and gets business.

  • Yes. While I focus on full builds, I know that sometimes an established site just needs a professional eye to get it back on track. Whether you need to add a single page, migrate from 7.0 to the latest version, or perform a technical SEO audit, I’m happy to help. These projects are handled as custom quotes based on the scope.
